When we bought the farm where The Secret Garden would eventually be built, we couldn’t believe that 'Maritzburg could offer such a beautiful environment, so close to the CBD (10 minutes from us), and ideally suited to creating a wonderful country wedding venue.
The Secret Garden is nestled in the hills of Bisley, and overlooks our private game ranch which is stocked with over 500 animals, ranging from giraffe ( which can often be seen from our venue’s verandah ) to zebra, kudu and the very rare oribi antelope.
Cluny Park Farm used to be a dairy farm and we have tried to retain that country essences and feel when creating our wedding venue.
The drive from 'Maritzburg to The Secret Garden takes you through the Bisley Valley Nature Reserve. Wild animals alongside the 3km gravel road make for an interesting drive.
The Secret Garden is a family owned business, between my wife Dana and I, we have more than 20 years in hospitality industry. Our experience includes time working at Walt Disney World in USA as well as managing and working in restaurants and hotels in South Africa, England, France & Ireland.
All enquiries, bookings, quoting, catering and the actual running of events and function receive our personal attention. We are very "hands on" and are always around to make sure your big day runs smoothly from beginning to end.
In our approach to business, we strive to be flexible and enjoy trying new ideas that couples may have. Everyone has different ideas and budgets when it comes to weddings, so we always try and build menus to suit individual budgets and preferences.
